FOXO4-DRI (10mg) — Quick Overview
What it is: A lab-engineered synthetic peptide, not a natural hormone. Designed as a research tool to selectively target senescent (“zombie”) cells.
Mechanism: Senescent cells survive by having a protein called FOXO4 trap p53 in the nucleus, blocking cell death. FOXO4-DRI displaces p53, freeing it to trigger apoptosis specifically in senescent cells while sparing healthy ones. The “DRI” modification makes it resistant to breakdown in the body.
Evidence: Comes from a 2017 Cell paper (Baar et al.) — mouse studies only. Showed reduced senescence markers and improved fitness/organ function in aged mice.
Status: No published human trials. Not FDA-approved or regulated. Anything labeled “FOXO4 10mg” for sale comes from research-chemical vendors, with no guarantee of purity or accurate dosing.
Bottom line: Promising mouse-level science, zero human safety/efficacy data — a common gap in the longevity-peptide space.
